Alpa Patel is a certified microbiologist with 20 years’ experience in the medical device industry, specialising in the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilisation of reusable medical devices. In her role at Nelson Labs, she leads reprocessing test method validations and the development of standard protocols. Alpa is an active contributor to global standards, including AAMI (co‑chair, Chemical Sterilants Hospital Practices Working Group), ASTM, AATB, and ISO.
